EurobioPlex DermaScreen
The EurobioPlex DermaScreen (EBX-073) is a qualitative, real-time multiplex PCR for the detection of clinically relevant dermatophytes and the detection of Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton interdigitale from extracted DNA.

INTENDED USE
The EurobioPlex DermaScreen kit has been validated on DNA extracted from hair, nail and skin samples. This test aids in the diagnosis of dermatophyte infections. Its result requires confirmation using other detection methods and comparison with clinical data.
Identification of dermatophytes, yeasts and NDM in daily practice is important for selecting the optimal antifungal regimen and preventing the side effects of prolonged treatment. A cautious approach is especially needed in pregnant women for whom several antifungals – topical (miconazole) and oral (terbinafine) – should be avoided during pregnancy and lactation, due to potential toxicity.
The EBX-073 kit is an in vitro medical diagnostic device intended to be used by qualified medical biology analysis laboratory personnel.
DNA extraction
The DermaXtract kit (EBE-077) is recommended for extraction of nail, hair and skin samples. The exogenous inhibition control must be added at the time of extraction, according to the instructions in the EBE-077 manual. The inhibition control (armored DNA) is a DNA sequence in a protein coat and is used to differentiate true negative samples from negative samples resulting from inefficient DNA extraction or PCR failure. Add 10 μl per sample when using the EBE-077 extraction procedure.
